You have to Burn the Rope

You have to burn the rope.

You have to go down the tunnel, jump a few times, grab some fire, and burn the rope.

That's all.

At first I was giving this game a 3 for the sheer novelty of the whole thing, but then the ending song... yes, ending song... made me give it a 4.

It's so weird, its fun.

Take 3 minutes, give it a try.

Burn the rope now!

Portal: Flash Edition

The first time I played Portal: Flash Edition, I had never seen the original game. I worked through most of the puzzles in the flash edition, then things took me away from it.

Eventually I played through the original game "Portal" on my Xbox 360. That game was amazing. Somewhat because of the new game play mechanic it introduced, but also because of the storyline that drew you in but never, ever got in the way of the game play.

So last night, I'm looking through badges to complete, and I notice that I never finished the Portal: Flash Edition game.

I have to say, while the game drops the well-done storytelling of the 3D version, it absolutely nails the puzzles.

It turns out, if you take the story away from Portal, take away the adventure parts, even take away the 3D, and boil it down to just the puzzles... you get really, really fun game play.

I'm glad that the original had such a good story, but this flash version proves that the game play itself was worthwhile.

So, I got a few levels closer to the "Deceptive Dessert" badge last night, but then the baby had to be washed, fed, changed, and put to sleep.

Hello

I am starting this blog because I'm a Kongregate addict. I will post about my quest to find fun in new games at Kongregate, and my adventures in badge-hunting and Card-hunting.

I don't know if this blog will be entertaining to anyone but me.

But if you like what you see, leave a comment.

To introduce myself, I am a hardcore gamer, who has been forced to go casual by life changes. It's hard to put 40 hours a week into gaming when I have a wife and a child.

I still love to game, and I use a Xbox 360 as my main gaming rig. But I'm now hopelessly addicted to Kongregate.

My next post will re-hash some of this information, as I wrote it first, then decided I should write an intro before letting that post go live.

Happy Gaming,

Measure
